It's Comcastic!

First of all, like I have said before, I hate January because it is the worst month of the year! Incredibly boring, so I have had nothing to blog about and I've been too lazy.....But, I just saved almost $200 yesterday and I thought it was worth sharing!

So most people these days have cable and probably internet and phone through some company whether it's Dish, DirecTV, Comcast, Qwest, etc etc.

Well I have Comcast, and yesterday I decided to call them hoping I could swing it to bring my bill down. I just called and asked about how I go about cancelling my service with them, and that I have found a better rate elsewhere. The lady then came back and said, "well what if we lower your monthly bill for 12 months so you don't have to go through the hassle of switching companies?"
me: "Really? That would be great! Let's do that!"
So I saved $16 bucks a month on my internet and cable bill which over 12 months adds up to almost $200! Awesome!

So if you have those monthly cable and internet bills, it is worth calling them, because more than likely they will lower your bill because they want to keep you as a customer! If for some reason they don't offer anything, just say "I don't want to schedule a cancellation today, I just wanted to find out what I needed to do." or something like that, and then call back later!!

It works, and it's worth it!!

The Good, The Bad, and the Scary!

Last night I had probably the greatest coupon savings ever! I got all of this stuff for just about $12!

Now I would have spent that much on the one pack of diapers! WOO HOO! I was excited. I got all this stuff between Walgreens and Rite Aid. Two of my favorite stores. I spent about $10 at Walgreens for the cleaning stuff, and then for the two packs of diapers, and two packs of wipes, I spent about $2.50!!! It was awesome! Especially for the diapers since they are expensive, I hope to find a good deal like that again.

For those of you who want to know how I got the diapers and wipes, I used 2 $1.50 coupons for the diapers, and 2 .50 cents off coupons for the wipes. And then I get a $2 rebate back on the diapers and a $2 rebate back on the wipes. Plus I used a $5 off $25 coupon, and a $10 rebate from spending $25 on Kimberly Clarke items! And after all that, it only cost just about $2.50! You should try it, it's totally worth it. They should have the rebates throgh the end of the month.

After the high I was on last night, I couldn't go to bed, and Dave was sick. So, he went to bed early and I watched "The Shining" on tv...by myself....in the dark. I have no idea why I did this. It freaked me out. And it prevented me from falling asleep even longer after that because my adrenaline was pumping. I don't even like scary movies, let alone watching them alone. That was a crazy movie. I have never seen it before. Stephen King has issues!

Help for the new year

Since it is the beginning of the year, and many people have made their resolutions, probably on the top of most of those lists has something to do with finances and saving money, and getting out of debt.
The other day I did...ahem...watch...Oprah and she had Suze Orman on, and they were talking about finances and debt for 2009. Honestly watching it I had two different thoughts. The first was "Holy crap! The world is ending and our economy is never going to recover!" I mean she didn't beat around the bush or anything, it was look, the economy sucks, we're in trouble. And then the other thought I had was "I am so glad I don't have a house right now!" Now in all honesty we can't even qualify for a home loan right now anyway, and that is due to the economy. But, I'm glad that we don't have a huge mortgage payment right now and that we can focus on getting out of debt. But if anyone is interested, and I already mentioned this to my family, Suze Orman wrote a new book specifically for helping our financial crisis in 2009 and you can download it for free for a week from Oprah's website. I have already read part of it and I have found it helpful. So if you are interested, go to www.oprah.com/download and you can get the book there.

January is soooo boring!

So I know we are well past Christmas now but I was looking at some pictures from that time and some video that was just too hilarious not to post. This might be more for my family's benefit, but when you have such funny kids in the family, you want to share it with everyone. And looking at all this stuff makes me happy because I just love being with my family so much, and even though it makes me miss them, it also makes my day because I'm grateful to be so close with all of them. I know, the rest of you are probably like, "okay we get, you love your family, talk about something else!" and I say "no way!" It's pretty much all I have to talk about. Right now, with it being January, the most boring month of the year, the only other thing that I have going on is trying to follow through on resolutions.....and that's about it! Yeah not very exciting.... So..some funny video to watch This first one is from Annie's gymnastics program, which was awesome and she did a great job. They let the younger kids jump around on this trampoline and Logan was having a wonderful time running back and forth on this long trampoline. I have never seen him so animated. And then there's Samantha, who can barely stand up and keep her balance. You can see Logan running in and out of the camera shot passing Sam. It was funny.

Then there was the amazing laser pen! Samantha could have been entertained for hours by that thing. Yes...they are amazing!

Then there was the cue dance routine with my dad and the grandkiddies. They were all dancing to the movie soundtrack of "Mamma Mia." It was cute...and funny.
