Well this weekend was another fun one and it's that much better because we have another day to have fun too, Memorial Day!
Dave and I apparently can't get enough of Saturday's Market. Yesterday was another nice day and we were planning on going up to Portland to this HUGE book store called Powells, (wow, it literally takes up a whole block) and this time Mark, Tracee and my father in law George came with us, so we figured we could stop at the market again for lunch. It was a lot busier than the last time we were there but it was still a lot of fun, and still all those eclectic people! Dave and I ate theses Gyros with lamb and chicken....mmmmm sooo good! We stayed for a couple of hours enjoying the music of all the bands playing and there was this one guy who played the harmonica and he was awesome!
So after we went to Saturday's market, and Powell's books we decided to go and see the new Indiana Jones Movie!!......uh, it was a bit weird, and hoaky! I mean aliens? really? What happened to all the religious story lines? George Lucas is getting to be a bit weird. I mean I didn't hate the movie, but I expected more out of it. For those of you who have seen it, I am interested in what you thought. There were good parts, and let's just say today I was cleaning grapes that had fallen under the table and I turned one over and a TON of ants came crawling out of it and I thought they were gonna eat me! :) Anyway I would give it 3 out of 5 stars, and that's generous.
Today we celebrated my brother in law Alan and Jeff's birthdays! Yes...more birthday's! It's been a big month for birthdays. It was fun and as if the house wasn't full enough, Kristin and Alan came for dinner with their four kids. But we had a great time eating ribs, steak fries (from the frydaddy of course), seven layer salad, and chicken. And of course we had to roast marshmallows and make smores over the fire from the grill! It was the first time I have used a Reese's peanut butter cup instead of hersheys...it was yummy!
As for tomorrow I was hoping to go to the beach but I don't think the weather will be good enough, but I'm sure we'll think of something fun. Happy Memorial Day, and thanks to all those who have sacrificed for our country and who are fighting in the war now! Peace out!

Man, you guys just party-party-party up there in Oregon now, don't you? :) It looks like you are having so much fun and I'm glad to see that.
Caden and I had a fun MemDay weekend spending it with Jeff. I have to say that I think some barriers were broken through this weekend and those two are starting to become more buddies (they've both been a bit shy around each other so I've just had to be patient). Things will still most likely take awhile on that front but I'm in no rush.

Sounds like you guys are having a great time. We miss you all. Tell Dave he needs to send me his jokes, I'm missing his humor--or just retell some of his daily funnies to us.

We saw the show also and share your opinion. Some interesting special effects, but pretty hokey. Lost my phone, so I'll use Dad's to call you soon.
Love,
Mom
